Kuldevi Deri of Doshi family is at Chintamani street in Radhanpur village of Banaskantha district. Mataji’s history of Doshi family.
Originally we were natives of Bhinmal. Our mother was in Bhinmal. Our elders left Bhinmal and settled in Radhanpur, Miyangam, Palej, Bhavnagar etc. and kept Mataji in Bhinmal.
One day Mataji came to a brother in a dream and said, You are leaving me alone, so our elders decided to bring Mataji to Radhanpur. And brought mataji at Radhanpur on Aaso Sud Dasham and did sthapna of mataji in Chintamani sheri.
1) Why is Mataji’s Tithi Aaso Sud Dasham?
Mataji’s sthapna was done on Aaso Sud Dasham in Chintamani sheri in Radhanpur. So Aaso Sud Dasham is kept as mataji’s tithi.
(2) Mataji’s tithi is Aaso sud dasham. So what happens in Radhanpur on that day?
On the day of Mataji’s Tithi, around 100 members of doshi family and other followers of mataji come from Mumbai and beyond. Decorations are done on the street of Chintamani sheri where our mother is virajmaan.
In the morning, the sisters sing Prabhatia, then at midnight they go outside the Patni Darwaza to draw water in the Padam wadi. Then Ghee for Pakshal and Puja are done. Then Pakshal and Puja are done by everyone. Sisters sing songs of Mataji with passion. After that, a meeting is held to discuss what to do every year. Then lunch is served in the wadi. The whole day goes on in joy.
3) Aaso Sud Dasham is Mataji’s Tithi, so what to do on Sud Dasham of every month?
On the 10th day of every month, light a ghee divo/diya in the house and give three khamasanas, then break (Vadhervu) the srifal, then put three pieces on the paatla / paniyaru (place where water pot is kept) and also remove one part for kuvashi and give it to her. The pieces kept on paatla should be given to nieghbours and rest of the pieces should be consumed by all in the family or friends. On that day , the women in the family should not wash hair or should not take a head bath. Please note that we do not eat sweet or bitter neem in our family.
4) Can Mataji be worshiped daily or not? If it can be done, how can it be done?
There were two opinions whether Mataji should be worshiped daily or not. So the chitthi was thrown and the result of chitthi came that puja can be done. Mataji should be worshiped with right thumb on Mataji’s forehead.
5) Can women worship Mataji or not?
In earlier times, women did not do it but now they do.
6) What are the miracles of Mataji?
Mataji’s miracles happen. A brother had a dream, Mataji said to him, ‘Are you sitting like this? Go to Rangoon!’ Then that brother went to Rangoon and earned a lot. Then the dream came back saying ‘you leave Rangoon’ so that brother left Rangoon and came to Mumbai. Rangoon was then evacuated. Thus there are many such miracles which have happened.
7) What should be done when you go for matajis darshan ?
We should not go empty handed to visit mataji. So to visit Mataji, take one srifal, and hundred and one rupees or as per your will and wish , alongwith penda as much as you wish.
